Dear Community Members,
A year since we had to abruptly close the library doors and switch to remote methods of service, the D.R. Moon Memorial Library is opening once again for patrons to come in to the library and look for books as well as use the computers and printer. In the interests of staff and patron safety, as well as in compliance with the Chippewa County recommendation of gathering restrictions, beginning March 22nd, patrons can make an appointment to use the library.
Appointments will be available from 10AM to 6PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. All patrons are requested to wear a mask, either their own or one provided by the library, and wash their hands at the library before using the computers. Computer appointments are limited to necessary tasks such as work, job applications, research, homework, etc. No gaming will be allowed at this time.
In order to abide by the recommended cleaning and quarantining of materials guidelines, browsing is restricted to “you touch it, you take it”. If you do not want to check out something you touched, you may leave it in the bin provided by the library to be quarantined for 72 hours.
Curbside pick-up is still being offered and will be expanded to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10AM-6PM. You are welcome to use the online catalog to find the materials you are looking for and staff will bag them up for you. We also offer a mobile printing service: send what you want to be printed to stanleystaff@stanleylibrary.org and arrange a time to pick it up.
For both curbside and library appointments please send us a Facebook message, an email (stanleystaff@stanleylibrary.org), or give us a call (715-644-2004), to set up an appointment. Please keep in mind that if you come to the library without first making an appointment you might have to wait for an open appointment.
Appointment Procedure:
- Set up an appointment through phone, email, or Facebook message.
- Come to the library at the specified time.
- All browsing appointments are 20 minutes and all computer appointments are 45 minutes unless more time is required and available.
To ensure social distancing, please come to the library at the time arranged. Each appointment expires after fifteen minutes; if you have not arrived, your spot may be given to someone else and you will have to reschedule.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. We hope to see you soon!
Stay well and take care,
Elizabeth Miniatt
Library Director
