As we look to the future, come celebrate our past with us! The D.R. Moon Memorial Library has served this area for over 120 eventful years. During that time history has been made, scientific and technological advances have changed the world, and our community has faced challenging and remarkable times. Through it all, from 1901 until today, our library has built connections between our communities and to the wider world.
Join us at the library any time between 1PM and 4PM on Saturday, September 30th, for a living history event celebrating the past, present, and future of our community. Hear about the history of the library and our community in the words of the people who were there, from Fire Chief Bartlett who helped fight the 1906 Stanley fire, to Mabel MacFarlane, who served as our librarian from 1959 to 1980. Stop by for history, refreshments, games and more.
