Building Connections

To donate to the library building project, please write out a check to the Community Foundation of Chippewa County and put D.R. Moon Building Fund in the memo. You can also donate online at yourlegacyforever.org/donate and selecting the D.R. Moon Library Pass-through Fund. For more information about the donating please read on.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the library! Donors have several different options, thanks to our partnership with the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.

The Community Foundation is a local, tax-exempt, publicly supported nonprofit organization. The Community Foundation hosts many different funds and funds of its own in order to give back to the community. We received several key grants through the Community Foundation during COVID and they have supported the library’s summer programming efforts as well. The Community Foundation is a trusted leader in our area through encouraging philanthropy and delivering the highest quality donor services. The Community Foundation strives to be a collaborative partner and leader in addressing important issues that will strengthen Chippewa County now and well into the future.

Library Funds

The library has two funds with the Community Foundation: an endowment fund and the pass-through building fund.

Endowment Fund
A technology-focused fund for updating the library’s resources every year. Created in 2020 with the goal that the principle will not be touched and the money earned by the account will go towards things like computers, hotspots, and other resources the regular library budget doesn’t cover.

Pass-through Fund
The library’s building fund is a pass-through account which was established for the purpose of funding the library’s renovation and expansion project. Recently renewed, this is meant to be a temporary fund in use just while we are running a capital campaign to fund the building project.
